He was rushed to Skyline Medical Centre but died from his injuries.

The Nashville Police Department said an investigation into Sebastian’s death was underway but it was being treated as accidental.

“The circumstances to this point indicate that the teen was travelling downhill at a high rate of speed without a helmet when he fell and hit his head,” the statement read.

The teenager was a student at Wilson Central High School, where he was a singer who played several instruments, The Tennessean reported.

Principal Jennifer Ankey told the outlet Sebastian was involved in the school’s culinary program.

“What made Sebastian truly special, though, was the way he treated people,” she said.

“He approached others with kindness, softness, and humour, making those around him feel comfortable and valued.

“He had a warm smile that seemed to be a constant part of who he was, and he had a way of brightening a room simply by being in it.”

A celebration of life service will be held at the school on November 8 to remember the teenager.

“Sebastian embodied so many of the best qualities of a teenager: curiosity, creativity, laughter, friendship, and an ability to find joy in everyday moments,” Ms Ankney said.

“He connected deeply with his friends and classmates, and his presence made our school community better.”

A lengthy obituary for the teenager describes him as an avid musician who played guitar, bass and the drums.

“He was silly, goofy, and full of personality,” it read.

“His favourite colours were red and black, and he enjoyed skateboarding, an interest he had recently rediscovered.”

The family said they were grateful for the outpouring of support they had received from the community.

In a touching social media post, Generation Changers Church paid tribute to the teenager involved in what they called an “unthinkable tragedy”.

“Sebastian has been a part of our church family since he was a baby, and our hearts break along with the Ebert and Roberts families at this unspeakable loss,” it read.

“We know He is with the Lord, and for that we are grateful.

“But we are left with tremendous grief that is bearable only by the hope of the resurrection.”

The spokesperson of the pastoral team said a help would be available for any grieving youths.

Pastor Barry Smith told News 2 that Sebastian was well-loved by everyone in the church community.

“Sweet kid. Unique kid. There was only one of him, and they will never be another one,” he said.

“Just a calm, sweet, peaceful kid that everybody loved.”
