A popular skincare product has been recalled due to health concerns and the risk of allergic reactions.

Product Safety Australia announced the recall of Priceline and Clear Skincare Clinic’s Exfoliating Gel Cleanser after it was found to not comply with the mandatory standard for cosmetic ingredients labelling.

“The ingredient list is incorrect,” the regulator said, and the product may be a “hazard to consumers”.

“There is a risk of allergic reaction if consumers are exposed to ingredients they are sensitive or allergic to,” it said.

Because the ingredient list is incorrect, customers “will not be able to check the ingredients list to identify the possible cause and seek appropriate treatment”.

The cleanser was sold nationally and online through Priceline and Priceline Pharmacy & Clear Skincare Clinics between February 27, 2024 and July 10, 2024.

People who have purchased the cleanser are advised to “stop using” it and return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

However, customers are warned a proof of purchase will be required.
