Meta outage: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp experience worldwide crash

Users are unable to access Facebook, Instagram or Whatsapp.

Worldwide hundreds of thousands of Meta users have been unable to access social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp as the tech giant experienced a major crash.

Facebook and Instagram have been failing to load and have been showing older posts when they do, show older posts. Threads seems to be recovering, though it sometimes is loading slowly.

“We’re aware that a technical issue is impacting some users’ ability to access our apps,” Meta says on X.

“We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience.”

DownDetector says they have been experiencing sudden spikes for Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, indicating lot of people around the world have been affected by the outages.

The DownDetector page shows 70,000 reports of issues for Instagram with Facebook exceeding 100,000.
