Adelaide is offering skipper Jordan Dawson “appropriate care and support” after the tragic death of his brother Jaryd.

Emergency services discovered Jaryd’s body on Wednesday after a desperate search was launched when he went missing on Tuesday afternoon near Robe in South Australia.

The Adelaide Football Club released a statement on Thursday offering their condolences.

“The Adelaide Football Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Jaryd Dawson, the brother of Crows Captain Jordan Dawson,” the statement read.

“On behalf of the Board, executive, staff, coaches and players, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Dawson family.

“Jordan is a much‑loved and respected leader, and the Club will be guided by him and his family as we provide the appropriate care and support.

“During this incredibly difficult time, the Club asks that the Dawsons be given space and privacy.”

There was no indication of the superstar’s playing availability.

Meanwhile, SA Police confirmed their was no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

“There are no suspicious circumstances. We ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time,” Wednesday’s statement said.

Jaryd Dawson’s wife, Jessica Carter Dawson, shared a heartbreaking message on social media.

“The last photo I took of my two boys, just two days prior. I was feeling so incredibly rich in life. Now my heart is shattered into a million pieces,” she wrote.

Jordan missed training on Wednesday with the Adelaide playing group told of the situation this morning.

Jaryd Dawson had just welcomed his first child, Hudson, in September and was also a groomsman at Jordan’s wedding in early 2024.

West Coast were among other clubs to offer the Dawson family condolences.

“We are sending our deepest condolences and support to Adelaide captain Jordan Dawson and his family after the tragic passing of his brother Jaryd,” they posted on X.

The Crows meet St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
