West Coast legend Ben Cousins has shared wild footage of the moment he reeled in a shark during a family holiday in the Northern Territory.

The AFL champion posted to Instagram on Monday with a heartwarming carousel of photos and videos with his children Angelique, 10, and Bobby, 12.

One video included the 46-year-old reeling in a small shark while out on a fishing boat trip with YKnot Fishing Charters.

Other snippets showed his family and friends catching fish, holding baby crocodiles and enjoying the Australian outback.

“There’s something really special about the NT! The people, the places, the outback ❤️,” Cousins wrote on Instagram.

Cousins made the trip to Darwin for an interactive live show to chat about being a captain, a premiership player, a Brownlow medallist, All Australian and a TV sensation.

Earlier this year the Perth local tore up the dancefloor on Channel 7’s Dancing With The Stars, making it to the sem-finals with his partner Siobhan Power.

Cousins revealed he did “fall in love” with the way the dancers moved and admired the “freedom” they had when they danced.

Even though they didn’t make it past the semi-finals, Cousins isn’t going to let that stop him from continuing his dancing journey.

“And finally... I continue to live by the presumption my best dancing is still ahead of me...” he said.
