He was the hard luck story in 2023 after playing 23 games before being dropped on the eve of the finals and missing out a premiership.
The hard-running defender was back in favour this year, playing 20 games.
“John today informed us he would like to explore a trade ahead of next season to be closer to family,” Collingwood list manager said.
“Whilst John is contracted, we understand the importance of family and will take this into consideration as we work through the trade period.”
Noble’s father David, the former coach of North Melbourne, works for Dick Johnson Racing in the Supercars and is based in Queensland.
The Pies already announced one list change on Monday with young ruck Aiden Begg delisted.
He joins retired pair Nathan Murphy and Josh Carmichael as confirmed departures.
