Essendon vice-captain Andrew McGrath shares engagement news at stunning location
We’re in the thick of the AFL’s love season and there has been no shortage of it since the last ball was bounced at the MCG.
Essendon vice-captain Andrew McGrath has proposed to longtime partner Emma Laughlin, with the pair announcing the news via Instagram on Sunday.
“Forever with you,” they wrote in a joint post.

McGrath’s Bombers teammate Darcy Parish commented: “Let’s go! Congrats you two, can’t wait to catch up to celebrate!”
Parish’s wife, Grace, added: “Couldn’t be happier for you lovers! The best news 😍😍 congratulations guys!”
Teammates Ben McKay, Jye Menzie, Alwyn Davey Jr, Archie Roberts, Ben Hobbs, Sam Draper, Kyle Langford, Nick Bryan, Zach Reid and former teammate Dyson Heppell also commented.
Elsewhere around the country, Sydney captain Callum Mills married Tiffany Browne.
The pair posted a black and white picture on Sunday with the simple caption: “Married”.
It’s been a rollercoaster year for Mills, who suffered a serious injury to his shoulder while wrestling with a teammate before the season even started.
After the delayed start to his year that ensued, Mills struggled to recapture his best form as he battled soft tissue problems.
The skipper then looked to have got things back on track at the right time of year before he injured his hamstring again in the Swans’ qualifying final win over GWS.
That ruled him out of playing in the preliminary final two weeks later, and gave him a short runway to get back for a possible grand final.
As it happened, the Swans qualified for the big dance, and Mills put his hand up for selection, having got through all the training he needed to that week, but coach John Longmire — scarred from the decision to play an injured Sam Reid in the 2022 decider — opted not to take the risk of bringing him back in.
It probably wouldn’t have mattered either way though, as the Swans went down by 60 points to a rampaging Brisbane Lions side.
Speaking of the Lions, star small forward Charlie Cameron also tied the knot with his partner, Caitlin Seeto, over the weekend.
The pair posted a photo at a stunning setting on Sunday.
“Mr and Mrs Cameron,” the photo reads.
