Carlton have continued to clean house as they officially enter the Josh Fraser era, with the Camporeale twins Lucas and Ben delisted just a day after seven teammates were let go.

But the Blues say both will be kept in consideration for a train-on chance after November’s AFL draft.

Lucas and Ben, sons of 1995 premiership player Scott, arrived together in the 2024 draft with the latter securing their dad’s famous No.16 jumper.

Only Lucas earned a senior debut, though, playing in the first two games of 2025 under Michael Voss before going back to the VFL until a third AFL appearance — and a win — in the last game of the season.

Neither twin got a call-up this year before or after Voss was sacked and replaced by Fraser.

“It is never easy to make these decisions as a club, but ultimately we need to ensure we have maximum flexibility in regard to our list spots ahead of the upcoming trade and draft period,” Blues football boss Chris Davies said on Thursday.

“Ben and Lucas have shown great commitment over the last two years, and although we are not able to commit to them for 2027, we have informed them both that they will be considered for potential train-on opportunities once we have completed the November draft.”

Ollie Hollands, Adam Saad, Hudson O’Keeffe and Flynn Riley are among the Carlton players who remain out of contract.

Hollands has been exploring his options and met with North Melbourne last month.

The switch from Voss to Fraser marked a significant change in Carlton’s personnel and game style with Billy Wilson, Talor Byrne, Blake Acres, Matt Cottrell and Wade Derksen among those to come into the side and stay there in the run to the elimination finals.

Saad, a key runner under Voss, was never selected for an AFL game under Fraser and will be forced to wait until the trade period to learn if he will get a new deal.

O’Keeffe also missed out under Fraser while Riley made his debut in July, while ruckman Marc Pittonet was sidelined, but was replaced the following week.

For now, it is the Camporeale twins who will join Zac Williams, Jordan Boyd, Lachie Fogarty, Lewis Young, Elijah Hollands, Flynn Young and Harry Charleson in departing the club.

Those seven were delisted on Wednesday.

“This time of year it can be difficult to farewell good people,” Davies said.

“Zac, Lachie, Lewis and Jordan have all played their role for the senior side over the last five or six years, while Elijah, Flynn and Harry each contributed to our club in more recent seasons.

“We wish each player all the very best moving forward and thank them all for their time in the Navy Blue.”

Davies is running the club’s list management following Nick Austin’s exit soon after Voss’s sacking.

While the Camporeale father-son twins are out, Carlton’s list turnover will be headlined by the arrival of Andrew Walker’s highly rated son Cody at the top of November’s draft.
