Geelong star Tom Stewart struck down by illness in enormous blow ahead of Adelaide clash

Geelong have been dealt a massive blow with Tom Stewart withdrawn from Thursday night’s blockbuster against Adelaide.
7NEWS chief AFL reporter Mitch Cleary revealed the star defender is suffering from gastro and won’t be able to play.
It’s the second time in three weeks he has been a late out after he was withdrawn from the Round 3 clash against Brisbane with a knee injury.

The vice-captain returned for last week’s win over Melbourne and flew over to Adelaide earlier this week to complete media commitments ahead of the Gather Round opener.
But he was struck down by the illness in the last 24 hours.
It’s another blow to the Geelong defence after Jack Henry suffered a hamstring strain last week.
Ted Clohesy, who was initially dropped for the clash, comes into the side and will start as the substitute.
The Crows had their own late drama with Izak Rankine, but the gun midfielder/forward passed a late fitness test to take his place in the side.
Zac Taylor will start as the sub for Adelaide.
