Horne-Francis was in discomfort and pointed to his foot as he slowly came from the track.
The 22-year-old’s 2025 season was ended early after undergoing surgery on his foot in July.

Horne-Francis immediately went to undergo scans on his foot, which is the same one he hurt during the year.
Scans reportedly cleared the gun midfielder of any breaks, but he will meet with a specialist for further assessment.
Horne-Francis later told 7NEWS he is not expecting the injury to have a big impact on his pre-season and could be back running before Christmas.
Captain Connor Rozee, Miles Bergman, Jack Lukosius, Josh Sinn and Lachie Jones were among the senior players back at the club under new coach Josh Carr.
New faces Corey Durdin and Jacob Wehr were also in action after securing trades from Carlton and GWS respectively.
Former North Melbourne and Collingwood player Jaidyn Stephenson is expected to join pre-season training after the trade as he hopes to win a spot on the rookie list.
Meanwhile, the Power unveiled their new squad numbers for next year with the club leaving Travis Boak’s No.10 vacant.
Boak retired this year as one of the club’s greatest ever, having played 387 games for the club.
“In recognition of Travis’ extraordinary contribution to our club across 19 seasons, we will retire his number 10 guernsey for a period of time,” Port Adelaide CEO Matthew Richardson said.
“This allows us to appropriately acknowledge his legacy and reflect on an incredible career which was full of resilience and loyalty to the Port Adelaide Football Club.”
Jackson Mead and Christian Moraes are among a handful of players to change numbers.
