But as he rounded one of the corners to his pool, his foot slipped off the edge and he fell onto his knee before rolling into the water fully clothed.

The 49-year-old can be heard yelling an obscenity as he hops to the side and climbs out.

“How’s your day going? Mine’s grouse thanks for asking,” he captioned the video.

The post instantly went viral with thousands liking it and leaving comments.

“Fake video... you’ve got someone who does this for you #poolboy,” former Richmond great Jack Riewoldt said.

“This is the best!!!” Tigers premiership captain Trent Cotchin added.

“This is all time,” former teammate Brett Deledio said.

“This is gold 😂😂😂,” current Tiger Tom Lynch said.

One concerned fan asked how Richardson’s knee was after the fall to which he responded, “rooted”.

He also revealed he had his phone in his pocket during the fall.

Richardson has never been afraid to have a laugh at his own expense.

This year, he appeared on The Front Bar to discuss what he had always maintained was the best mark of his career.

However, when the footage was tracked down and shown for the first time, it’s fair to say Richardson was left underwhelmed by the mark.

Richardson hilariously claimed “the modern cameras would have captured that a bit better” before conceding the mark was “s***house.”

“I’ve been telling that story for 30 years.”

Richardson later tweeted, “my lie has been exposed after 30 years,” with a few laughing emojis.

Richardson was one of the great forwards, playing 282 games and kicking 800 goals, which places him 12th on the all-time list.

Since retiring in 2009, he has forged a successful career in the media and is a key member of the Channel 7 commentary team.
