The Eagles have finally confirmed their next coach.

West Coast co-captain Oscar Allen has laughingly shrugged off a fan who brought a Brisbane guernsey to Eagles training, after reports emerged the Lions were targeting the star free agent.

As Allen walked the fence to take selfies with fans and give out autographs after the session at Mineral Resources Park on Wednesday, one brazen Lions supporter attempted to get the forward to sign the maroon and gold memorabilia.

The 25-year-old laughed as he declined, quickly moving on to sign other West Coast merchandise.

It comes after Brisbane on Tuesday were revealed as the latest club to make a play for Allen, who will be a free agent when his current contract expires at the end of this season.

Lions star Jarrod Berry said Allen would be a “great addition” to the reigning premiers’ line-up.

“I’d love to see it happen,” he said on potentially luring Allen to the Lions’ den next season.

“He’s a superstar guy and has great leadership attributes from what I’ve heard and seen.

“He’d be a great addition, but … we’ll leave that up to the list manager.

“We’ll worry about winning football games.”

The Eagles last week confirmed Allen would continue his co-captaincy role from last season alongside Liam Duggan.

Allen kicked 20 goals across 11 appearances last year after missing virtually the entire first half of the year with a knee injury.
