West Coast Eagles investigating Liam Ryan fight footage as he returns to training in Perth
The West Coast Eagles say they are “working to gather all the information” after disturbing footage emerged of Liam Ryan in an allegedly brutal street fight.
The footage, which has gone viral on social media, showed the Eagles player trading blows with a shirtless man before wrestling each other. The fight allegedly took place after a recent music festival.
The pair look both raise their arms as if in a formal boxing match before swinging wildly in the 30-second clip.

“Liam and his partner Evana are safe, and Liam will continue with pre-season training on Friday morning,” the club said.
“The club is working to gather all the information, will support Liam throughout this process and will make no further comment at this time.”
The incident occurred after a music festival in Fremantle on Wednesday night, which is believed to Juicy Fest.
Police have said no charges were laid and the investigation is now closed pending any new information.
“About 10.30pm on Wednesday 15 January 2025, an altercation occurred between two groups of people who attended a festival at Fremantle Oval,” a police spokesperson said.
“Police attended and dispersed the two groups. Officers issued two Move on Notices.
“The investigation is closed, pending any new information.”
The revelation of the alleged fight could not come at a worse time for the Eagles and the AFL a day after Ryan featured at the launch of the jumper for the the Indigenous All Stars in a clash with Fremantle at Optus Stadium next month.
The filmed fight is the latest off-field incident for the Eagles star after he was banned for two games following a fine for drink-driving when he crashed into a tree in 2018.
The incident happened just months before Ryan played an important role in West Coast’s grand-final win over Collingwood.
In 2017, Ryan was banned from Crown Casino for a period of time due to unacceptable behaviour.
He has also been racially vilified on and on the field with a fan ejected from the Eagles-Dockers derby last year for verbally abusing him.
The All Stars, set to feature the very best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players in the country, will wear a striking yellow design when they run out for the first time in a decade against the Dockers on February 15.

Ryan is among 10 players confirmed to play along with Brad Hill, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Kysaiah Pickett and new Fremantle recruit Shai Bolton.
The jumper, designed by Perth-based Indigenous mural artist Jade Dolman, features an orange legacy circle, rising from the Derbal Yerrigan — the Swan River — which wraps its way around Optus Stadium.
Ryan said it was a “dream” to be playing in the reincarnation of the match.
“It feels special as. She has done a great job,” he said of the jumper.
“It’s incredible, for me and the other blokes that are playing, we are going to run out with pride and hopefully put on a show.”
Ryan signed a contract extension with the Eagles last year until the end of 2026.
The 28-year-old is one of seven premiership players still on West Coast’s list.
The AFL has been contacted for comment.
