One end of RAC Arena will be transformed into a Boombox for multiple basketball games during HoopsFest after the event secured world renowned DJ Hayden James as a headline act.

James, who has over half a billion streams across Spotify and Apple Music, will help to launch the weekend of basketball in Perth which will see all NBL and WNBL teams competing.

He will be the DJ during the NBL grand final replay between Tasmania JackJumpers and Melbourne United on September 19 and help to close out the event on September 22.

“Every time I play in Perth there’s always great energy! I’m looking forward to being a part of the first ever HoopsFest and showcasing some of my new music from my upcoming album ‘We Could Be Love’ from the Boombox,” James said.

“It’s an awesome design. It’s going to be a cool experience watching from the lower bowl or upper deck during the game and then after we’re going to put on an awesome show for the fans.

“I’m a hoops fan and it’s been crazy to see the talent come in and out of the league over the past few years and I’m looking forward to the 24/25 season.”

The NBL has been keen to make Hoopsfest about more than just the games with the popular Sneakerland event and a Fan Zone adding to the occasion.

The Under 18 Club Championships will also be played during the inaugural basketball extravaganza.
