Beloved Rabbitohs hooker Damien Cook may be on the move as Dragons take aim at deal upgrade
The Rabbitohs look set to lose another one of its star-studded roster as a cross-town rival makes a play for former State Of Origin hooker Damien Cook.
As the St. George Illawarra Dragons search for a new No.9, their attention has reportedly turned to Cook who began his career with the Dragons in 2013, after failing to secure the signature of Jeremy Marshall-King who has decided to extend his stay at the Dolphins.
The SMH is reporting Dragons coach Shane Flanagan is set to offer Cook a two-year deal from 2025 after the club was made aware the Rabbitohs are under salary cap pressure.

Cook’s contract for next season is worth $650,000 and the Dragons would need the Rabbitohs to weigh in with part of his salary to cement the deal.
Souths officials told Cook’s management they would be unable to offer him a contract beyond 2025 and they would not stand in his way if he was able to secure a longer deal elsewhere.
