The Brisbane Lions removed social media footage showing four-year-old Piper Neal crying during her father Lachie Neale's 300th AFL game at the MCG.

The Brisbane Lions have been forced to delete a social media post featuring Lachie Neale’s daughter Piper after criticism from mum Jules.

In another post-script to the Neales’ public split, Lachie’s milestone 300th game last week set off what 7NEWS Brisbane’s Georgie Chumbley described as an “awkward PR moment”.

Lachie carried daughter Piper out onto the MCG to run through the banner as is tradition for milestone matches.

But the four-year-old was visibly overwhelmed and crying, burying her head into her dad’s shoulder as they ran out.

Earlier footage filmed by the Lions showed Piper was already concerned about the occasion.

“She wasn’t lying,” Brisbane wrote, adding the caption: “Our shy queen.”

Jules hit back in the comments.

“She’s not shy,” the concerned mum wrote.

“She’s scared and it’s not funny.”

The comment received hundreds of likes before Brisbane removed the entire post from their platforms.

“It’s really raised some questions about these family moments that the footy (clubs) try to capture and the content that’s posted afterwards,” Chumbley said.

“It was meant to be a milestone celebration but it certainly ended in a bit of an awkward PR moment for the Brisbane Lions.”

Brisbane went down in Lachie’s 300th game as Melbourne claimed a two-point win, but the reigning premiers bounced back to beat Adelaide at home on Sunday.

Piper was on hand again and reunited happily with Lachie in the rooms midway through a Triple M interview.
