Big Bash League: Perth Scorchers party long and hard after beating Sydney Sixers to claim sixth title

Perth Scorchers partied long and hard into the night after smashing Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League final to claim their sixth title.
The celebrations started on Optus Stadium’s outfield immediately after Josh Inglis belted a six into the crowd to secure a six-wicket victory and quickly spilled into the change rooms, where family and friends were invited to share the spoils.

Despite now being one of the side’s oldest players at 34, Mitch Marsh again led the celebrations, even posting a mock scorecard with his father Geoff’s name taking place of his to Instagram in what was surely a nod to his sedate strike rate.

Rising Scorchers superstar Cooper Connolly was well and truly in the thick of the party, posing for photos in some trendy sunglasses alongside Finn Allen and Aaron Hardie.

Perth’s two hard-luck stories out of the final in injured veterans Joel Paris and Ashton Agar also looked to be among the best-performed Scorchers across the course of the night.

An AFL star was even in the midst of the club’s celebrations, with Fremantle forward Josh Treacy welcomed into the inner sanctum.

Treacy is a friend of star Scorcher Hardie, with the caption on his post including a nod to the all-rounder pinning Steve Smith LBW in what was one of the game’s defining moments.
