A pitch invader has charged onto the MCG, wrapped his arms around Virat Kohli and danced with him in a bizarre moment on the second day of the Boxing Day Test.

The young fan, wearing a blue shirt with the word ‘free’ and a Ukrainian flag, entered the playing surface from the northern end of the ground — around fine leg — before running towards the Indian slips cordon.

The youngster then attempted the ‘floss’ dance, which briefly amused Kohli, before stadium security and an Indian team staff member came out to pull him off the ground.

Kohli was at the centre of a massive controversy on day one when he shoulder charged Australian teenager Sam Konstas.

The former Indian captain escaped suspension over the clash, which happened as Konstas dominated the opening session on debut, but was docked 20 per cent of his match fee and slapped with a demerit point.

The West Australia’s depiction of Kohli as a clown on the back page of Friday’s newspaper also went viral in India.

More than 87,000 fans packed the ground for the first day’s play on Thursday.
