Travis Head’s hilarious response leaves entire room in stitches after smashing another Ashes century
Australian superstar Travis Head has left journalists in stitches with a hilarious response after smashing a brilliant century on his Day 3 of the fifth Ashes Test.
Head’s 163 off just 166 balls set the tone for Australia on Tuesday before Steve Smith took over with an unbeaten 129 as the hosts went to stumps at 7-518 in reply to England’s 384.

Incredibly, it was the seventh time (and second this series) Head has been dismissed between 150 and 175.
And when reminded of that fact after play ended, he delivered the perfect response.
“It’s a pretty s**t stat isn’t it?” he said as the entire room erupted in laughter.

Head, who admitted he was disappointed with the way he went out, went on to say that he couldn’t complain about his innings.
“Much rather 160-170 than 0-10, so I ain’t going to complain about that,” he said.
“Yeah, probably had a couple of chances this series (to get 200), but yeah, pegs up and watch the boys go about it.
“I’m not too worried (about not reaching 200).”
It wasn’t the only funny response he dished out in an amusing chat with the media.
When asked why he takes the least possible effort to run his multitude of easy singles, the opener suggested his minimalist approach to running is designed to rile up his teammates.
“Walking singles and running backwards and carrying on is more just to get a rev up out of our boys,” Head said.
“Slapping one to point and walking, there’s no point in trying to charge around for two - unless you’re with Marnus.”
Shifting Head from the top of the order now seems impossible, though the left-hander admitted even he didn’t expect the success to come this quickly.
He reached 600 runs for the series and is firmly in the mix for the player of the series award, alongside Mitchell Starc.
Head brought up his latest century from 105 balls, finishing with 24 boundaries and one big six over the legside off Matthew Potts.
While questions remain over Australia’s opening pairing after Jake Weatherald’s wasted start on Monday, Head’s move up from No.5 is now entirely vindicated.
Australia have indicated they will re-evaluate whether Head should remain as opener at the end of this summer, or move him back down the order.
But it’s hard to see the opening experiment being abandoned after a 69-ball match-winning century in Perth and 170 in Adelaide.
By reaching his third century of the series on Tuesday, Head became the first Australian opener to do so in an Ashes battle since Matthew Hayden in 2002-03.
The 32-year-old’s return for the series is now 600 runs at 87.66, the most by an Australian opener in an Ashes contest this century.
He said he was happy to have taken himself into the consistent run-scoring territory often occupied by his teammates.
“It might be 600 runs now (for the series), that’s normally Smithy or Marnus,” Head said.
“I normally put the cherry on top and come in at the back end.
“Nice to be able to pull my finger out and help on the other side.”
Helping Australia post a 134-run lead alongside fellow centurion Smith kept Head in a buoyant mood, with even critique of his dismissal coming with a slight shrug.
“I felt like if I got to the new ball I could have a little bit more fun, so probably a bit disappointed,” he said.
“But look, could have got a duck, so I’ll take it.”
