Australia’s first ever manager in the English Premier League, Ange Postecgolou, is set to be shown the door at Tottenham after a disastrous tenure lasting only one season.

Although hope still burns that the club can secure a Europa League win, the English tabloid media are reporting he will still be axed in coming weeks.

The Sun are reporting that Monday night’s abysmal 2-1 defeat at the hands Nottingham Forest and a slip to 16th on the league ladder was the last straw for the Spurs board.

The Telegraph are also reporting that Spurs have decided they are going to remove Postecoglou whether they win the Europa League Cup or not.

Football pundits are already lining up potential managers as replacements for the Aussie who has previously had an impeccable record to date in world football.

Fulham manager Marco Silva is reportedly among the leading candidates to replace Postecoglou, with Mauricio Pochettino also expressing interest to return to Tottenham - although he is set to manage the US team at their home World Cup next summer.

More to come.
