GRAND PRIX TRIUMPHS
1. Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Canada, 2014
Canada is never short of history when it comes to Formula One, but Daniel Ricciardo made a piece of his own with a maiden Grand Prix triumph in 2014. Starting from sixth on the grid, Ricciardo showed superb speed and control to get past teammate Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg to become just the fourth Australian to win a Grand Prix, doing it by over four seconds.
2. Hungaroring, Hungry, 2014
Barely a month after his first victory, Ricciardo was back on top of the podium in Hungry. This time, he won by five seconds over Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.
3. Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, 2014
The world was at Ricciardo’s feet when he won his third Grand Prix for the season. Starting from fourth, the Aussie took the lead on lap eight but saved his best for last to fend off a fast-finishing Nico Rosberg.
4. Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, 2016
Ricciardo couldn’t find his form in 2015 but led Red Bull to a one-two finish alongside a very young Max Verstappen to break the drought. He sat behind future legend Lewis Hamilton for much of the race but made the most of the Mercedes driver withdrawing to race home for the win in the clean air.
5. Baku City Circuit, Azerbaijan, 2017
The Aussie was back atop the podium in round eight of the next season. He looked the most unlikely of winners after starting from 10th, but he had made his way into the top three by the halfway stage before taking the lead with just under 20 laps remaining to fly home.
6. Shanghai International Circuit, China, 2018
2018 started perfectly for Ricciardo as he tasted Grand Prix win six in just the third round. He finished more than eight seconds clear of Valtteri Bottas, having started sixth.
7. Circuit de Monaco, Monaco, 2018
For the only time in his career, Ricciardo won a Grand Prix from pole position at the fabled Monaco circuit. It would be his final triumph with Red Bull as he mastered the mean, lean streets.
8. Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Italy, 2021
After leaving Red Bull, there were years of struggle for the Aussie favourite, but it made his historic win at Monza all the more meaningful. Ricciardo nabbed the lead off Max Verstappen into the first corner and used McLaren’s extra pace on the straights to keep the world champion at bay for the entire day, leading McLaren to a one-two finish.
