NFL star DK Metcalf facing scrutiny after appearing to take swing at fan during Pittsburgh Steelers’ win

DK Metcalf was involved in an altercation with a fan in the stands during a game between the Steelers and Lions.

NFL star DK Metcalf is set to face scrutiny after appearing to throw a punch at an fan during Pittsburgh’s win over Detroit.

Metcalf, a wide receiver for the Steelers, was shown on the broadcast of his side’s Sunday Night Football game against the Lions interacting with a fan wearing a blue wig and hanging over the railing of the first row of seating at Detriot’s Ford Field.

The footage then shows Metcalf appearing to lash out with his right arm in the direction of the fan before walking away.

The 28-year-old was allowed to continue playing in the game, which his side went on to win 29-24, as referees did not throw a flag during the incident.

With two games remaining in the regular season, Pittsburgh sit fourth in their conference and in first in their division, but the incident will cast major doubt over Metcalf’s availability for their postseason push.

Metcalf has established himself as one of the league’s top pass catchers since being drafted out of the University of Mississippi in 2019, earning two Pro Bowl selections and a place on the All-Pro second team in 2020.

He was traded from Seattle Seahawks to the Steelers ahead of this season.
