Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart pens new NRL deal until end of 2029

Ricky Stuart is set to preside over the most significant roster evolution in Canberra’s recent history after he was handed a four-year contract extension.
Stuart, who joined the Raiders as head coach in 2014, will remain at the club until the end of 2029.
Including the club’s run to the 2019 grand final, the 57-year-old has taken Canberra to the finals in four of the last five seasons while subtly shaking up the club’s roster.

“The Raiders are in the process of moving through a significant transition, with one of the youngest playing squads in the NRL and we see Ricky as a central part of that transition,” chairman Dennis Richardson said.
“His values and character have been an important ingredient in the attraction of the young talent we’ve been able to bring to the club in recent times.
“His re-signing until the end of the decade provides continuity and certainty for a playing group which we believe has the potential to deliver the ultimate prize in the coming years.”
Stuart is the most-capped coach in Green Machine history and won three premierships with the Raiders as a player.
His side face Canterbury in the opening game of Magic Round on Friday.
