“It is is my stomach. I was feeling a bit heavy in the stomach and had all the tests, and its in my stomach.

“Its non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which, from a cancer perspective it’s not too bad I have been told.

“My head has been spinning with all the tests I have had to have, but I started treatment today (Thursday) with medication, and I will be having chemo on Monday.

When quizzed about his immediate future and plans for his broadcasting career with @GB Brohamn was upbeat but realistic about the task at hand.

“My wife has taken time off to drive me around as we go to tests and deal with what’s coming up,” Brohman said.

“I’m hoping i”m right by the start of the footy season but I will be laying low for a couple months at least.

“My health is the number one priority so I won’t be going to the season opener in Las Vegas and I can’t be part of the tour group I was planning to go on.

“I am very positive that I will be alright but I’m going to lay low for a couple of months now and get right,” he concluded.

Brohman is adored by fans for his exploits as a member of the Channel 9 NRL Footy Show and has been an integral member of radio 2GB’s rugby league coverage for many years.

Based out of Sydney, Brohman, played in the 1970s and 1980s, for the Penrith Panthers, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and the Queensland rugby league team.
