The NRL and the Canberra Raiders are likely to begin an investigation after one of their biggest names was involved in an ugly post-season incident.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Josh Papali’i is being investigated by ACT Police after allegedly behaving aggressively, smashing glasses and refusing to leave the Raiders club’s licensed premises on Monday.

No charges have been laid but the ACT police have confirmed the accusations.

Canberra fell painfully short of the 2024 finals series, finishing ninth, with the long road to season 2025 already beginning for the prop forward.

Papali’i, 32, has played 305 games for the club since making his debut for the team in 2011 and has a year to run on his current contract.

He has made 23 appearances for Queensland and 11 games for Australia during his star-studded career.

In 2017, Papali’i was arrested after he called the police to tell them he was drunk driving.

Papalii rang triple-0 and reported that he was driving drunk and on the wrong side of the road ‘to prove a point’ after leaving then-teammate and captain Jarrod Croker’s engagement party.
