A heartbreaking one-point defeat to Wests Tigers after leading inside the final four minutes has proven too much to bear for veteran Gold Coast Titans coach Des Hasler.

The 64-year-old went nuclear in the rooms post game, furiously calling the players out of the showers before delivering a berating that needed to be heard to be believed and descended into petty name calling.

After the players had resumed their seats, Hasler let loose.

“It f****** hurt me,” he said.

“Where we’re at now in attack boys, we should have been at in January, because you c**** don’t get it.

“And even when you do get it, it goes back to what doesn’t work. What has never worked for ya and you keep doing it and doin’ it.

“Every f****** week you keep doing what doesn’t work for ya. That’s why you’re f****** dumb. You’re f****** s***.

“You want to put up with that, you’re s***. F****** crap. What’s going on brother?

“You’re f****** s***, sit on the bench.”

At this point, Hasler, who is approaching 500 games in his coaching career, takes a breath, only to start again.

“You’re playing on a f***** spud, he’s under-12 level, under-12 level,” he screams as the players murmur.

“And you’re standing there in the middle of f***** nowhere, doing f*** all. You might as well be the under-12 spud.

“You’re not making any f****** sense.”

The Titans sit dead last on the NRL table at 4-13, two points behind the Eels, Rabbitohs and Knights with pressure continuing to mount on Hasler who joined the franchise in 2024.

The coach also labelled his side’s second half “dumb” in his post-match press conference.
