Rabbitohs seal deal as Wayne Bennett reportedly returning to South Sydney on three-year $3m deal
Supercoach Wayne Bennett is set to sign off on a three-year $3m deal to return to coach South Sydney from 2025.
Rabbitohs officials met with Bennett this week and are due to come together again during Magic Round in Brisbane this weekend, where the final details will be hashed out and the deal looks set to be sealed.
Rabbitohs CEO Blake Solly has been leading negotiations with the current Dolphins mentor and sources close to the club told the Sydney Morning Herald the deal is ‘all but done’.

The Rabbitohs are 1-9 and anchored to the bottom of the NRL ladder under now caretaker coach Ben Hornby, who Bennett coached to a grand final win with the St George Illawarra Dragons.
After the three years, Bennett, a supporter of the Perth bid for a 20th NRL team, could potentially coach the NRL’s newest team in Western Australia after having resurrected one of its oldest.
