Aussie pop sensation The Kid LAROI has divided fans with his performance at the NRL grand final.

The Sydney local is an Aria Award-winning, Grammy nominated, chart-topping global superstar who has reached No.1 in America with his worldwide hit Stay.

The 21-year-old grew up in Redfern and is a diehard South Sydney Rabbitohs fan.

Entering in all white with ‘WATCH THIS’ printed on the back, he opened with Baby I’m Back before diving into Girls.

Fireworks blasted throughout and Accor Stadium lit up as he got the crowd singing along to his famous hit Stay.

He then sang Without You before finishing with a stirring rendition of INXS’ hit Never Tear Us Apart.

Smoke billowed on the stage, which was a cause of frustration for many fans.

“Welcome to the smoke show, kid laroi can’t even see if your in the stadium,” one said.

“Can anyone actually see the kid laroi with all the fog on the stage???” another one added.

“How many in Accor Stadium can actually see The Kid Laroi through the smoke?”

“I can’t even see Kid Laroi in all that smoke!”

Other fans pointed to performing a cover song.

“Is it me or has the audio been echoing the whole time The Kid Laroi has been singing? Also.... why do “Never Tear Us Apart” and go and butcher an iconic anthem?” One said.

“I had no idea Kid Laroi was a cover act,” another added.

Others were just not happy at all.

“Kid Laroi. What a load of rubbish,” one said.

“Kid laroi is so bad,” another added.

“I’d be mad as hell if I spent money to go to the grand final and had to sit through a kid laroi set,” another said.

“What is a Kid Laroi and where is Jimmy Barnes?” Another added.

But it wasn’t all bad with plenty enjoying the performance.

“The kid laroi killing it at the grand final,” one said.

“Did not expect never tear us apart by kid Laroi. Well done mate,” another added.

“God this country is full of whingers… kid laroi was great and we should be grateful one of our own has made it so far internationally. do better,” another said.

“Good stuff from Kid Laroi at the NRL GF. Audio engineer is getting fired though his mic was so quiet but great show,” another added.
