Daniel Ricciardo: Christian Horner wants former Aussie Red Bull star in front of F1 cameras
The love for Daniel Ricciardo from his old mentor, Christian Horner, keeps flowing as the Red Bull boss calls for the Australian to become a feature of the sport’s media coverage in the future.
Although Horner played a major role in Ricciardo’s departure from the F1 driving scene, after the Aussie lost his seat in the second-tier RB outfit to young Kiwi gun Liam Lawson, he is still ‘pumping the tyres’ of his former driver and has suggested Ricciardo would be perfect in front of the camera and microphone.
“He’s so good in front of the camera, he’s a natural entertainer and showman,” Horner said on the F1 Nation podcast.

Ricciardo, 35, announced he would be stepping away from F1 after the Singapore GP as Red Bull made the tough decision to sever ties with the Aussie.
According to Horner, Red Bull chief Helmut Marko wanted the 35-year-old dropped at the Spanish GP, but the team persisted with Ricciardo giving him more time to attempt to better his team-mate Yuki Tsunoda.
Following the confirmation of Ricciardo’s F1 exit, Horner took to social media to express his thanks and admiration.

It appears the WA speedster will have plenty to keep him occupied as he weighs up several offers including an attractive offer from the V8 Supercars Series to drive in the 2025 season.
V8 Supercars CEO Shane Howard has extended an informal offer to join the championship, revealing it would be ‘massive’ for the series to have Ricciardo behind the wheel in their latest race edition at his hometown of Perth.
