Some Super Bowl winners book a trip to Disneyland, or buy expensive cars. But Seattle’s Aussie punter Michael Dickson had some much more attainable food items on his mind in the moments after his NFL triumph.

Some Super Bowl winners book a trip to Disneyland. Others splash out on expensive houses or cars or other luxury items.

But Seattle’s Aussie punter Michael Dickson had some much more attainable food items on his mind in the moments after experiencing the ultimate NFL triumph.

“I love my family, I love my friends, I love Australia,” Dickson said on ESPN when asked what his message was for his home country.

“I can’t wait to get home, get some chips with some chicken salt – I’m craving that.

“And a parmi. That’d be nice.”

Dickson was among the key players in the Seahawks’ 29-13 victory, consolidating a reputation that has many view him as the league’s best punter.

The 30-year-old Sydney product kicked for 335 yards from seven efforts, including a series of pinpoint efforts that pinned New England deep against their own end zone to pile the pressure on.

Dickson said the team achievement “means everything” after he emulated compatriot Jordan Mailata’s Super Bowl breakthrough with Philadelphia from last year in becoming the only Australians to play in a winning team on the big day.

“This is what we do it for,” said Dickson, who is the longest-tenured current Seahawk after beginning his NFL career there in 2018.

“It was a crazy game. Our guys balled out. I’m still soaking it in.

“It’s nice to know that I can play in these type of games. If you ever feel any nerves, you just look at the guys next to you and everyone’s having fun and making plays. It’s the best feeling.

“I have big dreams. I knew we were going to get here and I knew we were going to get it done and we did.

“I’m very very lucky and very happy.”
