Tershawn Wharton: Kansas City Chiefs star catches child who fell from grandstand
One of the NFL’s ‘big men’ has shown he is has a lightning quicm reaction time after catching a child who fell out of a grandstand while trying to get an autograph after the game.
Defensive end for the reigning Superbowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs, Tershawn Wharton, was going heading off the field when he sprang into action and made the catch of the day, even the game was over.
Wharton heading into the tunnel at Bank of America Stadium after the Chiefs’ 30-27 win over the Carolina Panthers when young fans became calling out for autographs.

Bit after misjudging his pace the boy rolled over the top and fell.
Wharton ran forward and managed to catch the boy during the fall, preventing a head-first drop onto the ground below.
The giant NFL player then casually lifted the boy back up and assisted as he was lifted back over the barrier, unharned.
“It was a natural a reaction,” Wharton told the Pat McAfee show.
“Usually when I leave the game, I try to throw my gloves in the crowd and I think I heard my name a little and when I heard my name, I seen him coming down.
“I kind of grabbed him right by the back of his back and kind of pushed him into the stands a little bit more.”
Wharton says he is now trying to locate the boy and his family so he can invite them to a Chiefs game.
