Matildas superstar Sam Kerr allegedly called a UK police officer “a stupid white bastard” in the taxi altercation that has her facing a criminal trial, it can be revealed.

The details of the Australian captain’s alleged run-in with British authorities emerged on Wednesday night, with reports out of London also stating she was sick inside her taxi before the alleged incident.

Kerr — who denies any wrongdoing — then allegedly made the racist remark towards one of two officers during a dispute over her taxi fare while heading home from a night out with friends.

The bombshell allegations emerged after the Chelsea striker appeared in Kingston Crown Court in London on Monday, despite the alleged incident occurring in January last year.

Kerr pleaded not guilty to racially aggravated harassment of a police officer during the hearing and will face trial in February next year.

The 30-year-old’s lawyers are expected to attempt to have the charges dismissed next month, well ahead of any trial.

Multiple UK media outlets have reported they will argue an abuse of process at a pre-trial hearing on April 26 and seek to have the charge downgraded or dropped.

Just hours before the alleged incident — which Kerr was only charged over two months ago — the Perth star had made headlines for scoring a hat-trick for her side, Chelsea, in the FA Cup.

She had even posted a photo to social media of herself and fiancee Kristie Mewis to commemorate the victory at Chelsea’s home ground, Kingsmeadow, with the pair appearing in high spirits.

Kerr was delivered the court summons in January, nearly a year after the incident.

The Matildas skipper is rehabilitating her knee after ACL surgery in a desperate bid to be fit for the Paris Olympics in July. Neither Kerr nor her manager has spoken since the allegations came to light.

But Kerr has been pictured hours after her court appearance to celebrate friend and fellow Matildas star Mackenzie Arnold’s 30th birthday alongside other Aussie teammates, including Stephanie Catley.

In a group picture posted to Arnold’s Instagram on Monday night, Kerr can be seen crouching next to Mewis — who recently transferred to a London team to be closer to her partner — with an easy smile.

Arnold is also based in London, minding goal for Chelsea’s Women’s Super League rivals West Ham.

Kerr and Mewis have also been in Perth as recently as January, as the pair soaked in the summer sun during the holiday break in the Women’s Super League.
