US VP nominees Tim Walz and JD Vance to debate on October 1
US Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz has agreed to debate his Republican rival JD Vance on October 1, which is one of the dates for a debate proposed by CBS News.
The network said it has provided the campaigns four dates for the debate: September 17, September 24, October 1 and October 8.
Asked about a possible debate, Vance told Fox News: “I strongly suspect we’re going to be there on October the 1st.”

Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, and Republican nominee Donald Trump are scheduled to debate on ABC News on September 10.
The Democratic National Committee holds its convention in Chicago next week to celebrate the nomination of Harris as the party’s presidential candidate.
The four-day event is expected to draw thousands of people to the city in a show of enthusiasm for Harris’ surprise ascent to the nomination after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
While it will be like a party inside the convention hall, the streets outside are expected to be heavy with protesters frustrated with the Democratic administration’s support of the way Israel is carrying out its war in Gaza.
