A 34-year-old man is being remembered as a ‘loving, involved father’ after he was found dead in a trash compactor at the back of a pharmacy.

A man has been found dead in a trash compactor after going missing while doing contract work at a pharmacy.
Andrew Strand, 34, was doing work at a CVS in Shaker Heights, Ohio when he disappeared, prompting his wife, Jaymie, to call police.
Ms Strand reported her husband missing just before 10pm local time on Wednesday night after she hadn’t heard from him, according to Cleveland 19 News.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.Shaker Heights Police Commander John Cole told the outlet that Ms Strand said she had tracked her husband’s phone to the CVS on Chagrin Boulevard where he was working.
When officers searched the location, they found the lifeless body of the father-of-two inside the trash compactor at the back of the property.
Mr Cole said the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner is determining the cause and manner of death.
“We extend our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time,” he said.
According to a GoFundMe started by the family, Mr Strand was a mechanic and was looking forward to starting his own business.
“He was recently starting his own company, which he was absolutely loving. He was a mechanic for many years and played hockey for many years, influencing his son’s life to love both cars and hockey,” the family said.
Mr Strand leaves behind a wife and two young children.
“He was a loving, involved father,” they said. “His wife and children were the center of his life and he loved them immensely.
“Andy and his wife, Jaymie, were married for 7 years at the time of his passing.”
Mr Strand’s family remember him as “a kind man who always showed up to support his friends or anyone who needed him.”
The family said the fundraiser will support Mr Strand’s wife and children and help raise funds for his funeral service.
