Indonesian landslide kills 11 people, 12 still missing in Central Java
A landslide after heavy rain has killed 11 people, Indonesia’s disaster management agency says, adding that rescuers are searching for a dozen people who are still missing.
A landslide in the city of Cilacap, Central Java, on Thursday buried a dozen houses in Cibeunying village.
Rescue efforts are proving challenging because people are buried three to eight metres deep.

The Southeast Asian country’s wet season started in September and will last until April, bringing a higher risk of floods and extreme rainfall.
Another landslide in January, triggered by torrential rain in the Central Java city of Pekalongan, killed at least 25 people.
