Baby dies after allegedly being thrown out fourth-floor apartment window by five-year-old sister

A newborn has died after allegedly being thrown from a fourth-floor apartment window by his five-year-old sister.
The 21-day-old baby plunged 12m to the concrete below and was found by a passerby.
The incident in the Russian town of Vasilyevo happened while the children were left at home alone, according to local news reports.

The passersby reportedly heard screaming before they spotted the newborn motionless on the ground.
The Russian Investigative Committee has confirmed it has opened a criminal case against the parents.
Its investigation will look into whether the five-year-old was jealous of the newborn and why the children were left alone.
“The actions of the parents who left the children unattended, as well as other possible scenarios, are being investigated.”
A source told a local news site: “The older girl was upset that there was another child in the flat, and out of jealousy, she threw the infant out of the window.”
Mikhail Afanasyev, the district chief in Zelenodolsk, Tatarstan, spoke about the incident and issued a warning to parents
“I express my condolences to the family of the deceased and urge all parents to be vigilant and never leave your children alone,” The Sun reports.
It comes as the Australian police investigate a horrific incident in which a three year-old boy died in a car crash that is now being treated as a possible domestic violence incident.
Caden Case was in the car with his one-year-old brother and parents when it veered off the road on Saturday.
Police say the parents were separated and they are investigating whether the car was deliberately crashed.
