Co Offaly, Ireland: Father and daughter killed in devastating workplace incident at Banagher Precast Concrete
The shocking incident has been described as ‘unprecedented’ as an investigation is launched.
A father and daughter are being remembered by colleagues after they were both killed in a devastating work incident.
The tragedy happened shortly before midday on September 28 at a concrete manufacturing facility in Ireland.
Emergency services rushed to the site but the man in his 50s and his daughter, in her 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their identities have not yet been revealed.
It is believed the pair were from Romania but had been working at Banagher Precast Concrete in Co Offaly, Ireland, for several years.
The two bodies were taken to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examinations.
A spokesperson for Banagher Precast Concrete told local outlet RTE that it was “a devastating tragedy for everyone connected to (the) company”.
They thanked emergency services who attended the scene and did their best to help the father-daughter duo.
The spokesperson called the tragedy “unprecedented” and said employees were “all in deep shock”.
The company said it was cooperating with a Health and Safety Authority investigation into the tragic incident.
Local MP Tony McCormack told the Irish Independent that he believed a third family member worked at the company.
“My thoughts are first and foremost with the families and loved ones of those who have lost their lives. I can only imagine the shock and heartbreak they are experiencing today,” he said.
He offered his condolences to the wider community and everyone impacted by the “terrible tragedy”.
“People here in Banagher are great for rallying around families to look after them and to be able to do whatever they need in situations like this,” Mr McCormack continued.
“Something like this is not only felt in the workplace and in family, but it’s felt right across the community.”
