Crans-Montana: At least 10 people killed, others seriously injured after explosion at Swiss ski resort bar

Ten people have been killed and others injured after an explosion at a bar in a Swiss ski resort.
The blast happened just after 1.30am, sending New Year’s revellers running.
Footage circulating on social media purportedly of the fire at Le Constellation Bar at the luxury Crans-Montana resort show flames ravaging the building. The bar is located in the basement.

“This morning, January 1, 2026, a fire broke out around 1.30 am at Le Constellation lounge bar in Crans Montana in the canton of Valais,” Valais police Gaetan Lathion told local media.
“There are several injuries and several fatalities.”
Police have said there were more than 100 people inside during the incident.
It is not known what caused the explosion, but local reports suggest pyrotechnics.
A no-fly zone is in place over Crans-Montana, an upmarket ski resort located in the heart of the Swiss Alps in the country’s Valais region and is popular with British tourists.
