Donald Trump Jr releases statement on his father’s apparent shooting

Donald Trump Jr has posted to social media after his father, Donald Trump, is believed to have been injured after apparent gunshots were fired through the crowd.

In a post on X, formally Twitter, Trump Jr posted a photo of his father with what appears to be blood covering the right side of his face, accompanied by the lines “He’ll never stop fighting to Save America”.

The former president and presumptive Republican nominee was at his last rally before the Republican National Convention opens Monday when the apparent gunshots were fired.

World leaders and political figures have also taken to social media to share their shock and words of support after the incident, including president Joe Biden who fronted media calling the violence “sick”.

“There’s no place in America for this kind of violence, it’s sick, that’s why we need to unite this country.”
