Donald Trump launches fresh attack on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over Spare and treatment of William
In a new interview, the US President has taken another swipe at the Sussexes, this time taking aim at Harry’s relationship with his brother Prince William.
Donald Trump has launched another extraordinary attack on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, accusing the couple of treating Prince William “terribly” and saying he would have cut ties with them completely.
The US President took another swipe at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during an interview with GB News host Bev Turner, just a day after declaring he was “happy” the couple had returned to the UK.
This time, Mr Trump turned his attention to Harry’s relationship with his older brother, Prince William.

“I think that what she (Meghan) has done and him (Prince Harry), he wrote a book that was very terrible to William; it was terrible,” Mr Trump said.
“The things he said, I wouldn’t... I mean, it’s just me.”
Mr Trump appeared to be referring to Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare, which contained a series of explosive claims about his relationship with William, including an alleged physical confrontation between the brothers.
He said he would not have forgiven Harry if he were in William’s position.
“I’m sure I’m wrong on this, but I would not have taken him back. I would have never spoken to him again,” he said.
The comments mark a second public attack on the Sussexes from Mr Trump in the space of days, after he previously accused them of showing “great disrespect” towards the royal family.
During the latest interview, Mr Trump was also asked about King Charles’ apparent willingness to maintain a relationship with his son.
He praised the monarch for extending an olive branch to Prince Harry and Meghan, but admitted he would have handled the situation very differently.
“It shows you what a good man King Charles is. He’s a much better person than I am,” Mr Trump said.
“I wouldn’t have done it. I would have said forget it.”
Ms Turner then joked that Mr Trump’s own children probably would not have treated him in the same way Prince Harry had treated his father.
“Well, I hope not!” Mr Trump replied with a laugh.
The US President went on to praise King Charles as a “fantastic guy”, recalling the monarch’s recent visit to the US.
“He was here a couple of months ago, everybody loved him in America. He spoke in front of Congress, everybody loved him. He’s a fantastic guy,” he said.
Mr Trump’s latest comments come after he revealed this week that he was “happy” to hear Prince Harry and Meghan had left the US and returned to Britain.
He also said he was “not a fan” of the couple and criticised Meghan over her treatment of the royal family.
Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 before moving to California, where they established a new life with their two children.
Their departure from royal life was followed by a series of interviews and Harry’s memoir, which detailed the deepening rift between the Duke and other members of the royal family.
The Sussexes are understood to be establishing a new base in Britain, with reports they are considering a property in the Cotswolds.
They have not indicated they intend to return to official royal duties.
