Garibay, who is known as Esmeralda FG on TikTok where she has 45,000 followers, often flaunted her lavish lifestyle on the platform, showing off high end brands, luxury cars and expensive holidays.

In one video, she can be seen with a Gucci handbag alongside the words “Advantages of having a narco boyfriend”.

Prosecutor Alfonso Gutierrez Santillan said early evidence pointed to the family being murdered at an auto repair shop.

“While the forensic results are not yet in, ballistic and blood evidence almost certainly confirm they were murdered at that location,” he said at a press conference.

Local media reported that investigators used surveillance video to trace the van back to the auto repair shop where the pickup truck containing the bodies was found.

Three men who worked there were arrested over the horror find but they have since been released.

In a frightening twist, the trio were kidnapped by armed men moments after being released by the prosecutors office, the New York Post reports.

One of the men managed to escape but the others questioned over the murders is still unaccounted for.

Mexican outlet El Financiero reports Garibay’s husband Licea, who was a businessman involved in car sales and tomato farming, was the target of the murders.

The police investigation is continuing.
