Experienced BASE jumper falls more than 200 metres to death in Millville Canyon, Utah
A BASE jumper has died in front of 10 friends in a horror wingsuit accident.
A BASE jumper has fallen to his death on Sunday after his wingsuit failed to engage in time for landing.
The 27-year-old was a “experienced in this type of activity” according to local authorities, who responded to the incident in the mountainous region of Hyrum, Utah.
Cache County Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Doyle Peck said emergency responders were called to Leetham’s Hollow, an area in Millville Canyon, at 9.10am local time where they located the man who was already deceased at the scene.

“He impacted the ground at a high rate of speed resulting in his death.”
The man was BASE jumping with a group of 10 people, the Millville Canyon area popular amongst the adventure sports community for its cliffs and canyon walls that are likened to the Grand Canyon.
BASE, standing for Building, Antenna, Span, Earth, was popularised as an adventure sport in the 1970s when filmmaker Carl Boenish captured free-fall jumps from the 915 metre high cliffside of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.
Since then, an unofficial BASE fatality list has recorded 541 deaths from the sport, with 15 of them in 2026.
