Facebook down: Meta’s social media platform back online for desktop following unexplained outage

Social media platform Facebook appears to be functioning as normal following a momentary downperiod.

Users reported receiving an error message about 10.22am (AWST) on Thursday when trying to access the platform on desktops.

Mobile appeared to be unaffected.

“Sorry, something went wrong,” the message begins.

“We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”

According to platform Downdetector, 1500 reports of Facebook outages were reported.

However at 11am (AWST) Facebook appears to be functioning normally again.
