Kentucky, USA: Toddler Daelyn Davis suffers third-degree burns after Crock-Pot falls on him
The one-year-old has suffered third degree burns from the terrifying accident.
A toddler is facing multiple surgeries after he suffered severe burns from a cooking appliance.
Daelyn Davis was sitting on the kitchen counter in his home in Kentucky when the terrible accident happened on July 17.
The boy pulled the extension cord that a Crock-Pot was plugged into, which fell on him and left him with third-degree burns across his body.

“I was like, ‘what do you mean?’ And (Daelyn’s mother) said that he had pulled the cord down on himself,” she said.
“Oh my God, I was devastated.
“I was heartbroken, like my heart was racing. I couldn’t go back to sleep, that’s for sure. I was just freaking out.”
Ms Davis said the boy’s mother had been struggling with guilt since the accident.
“Everything is new to her as it is,” she said of her sister.
“She’s already definitely feeling the guilt from this and blaming herself, and she’s dealing with a lot of backlash already.
“But she just wants her son to get better. When one parent hurts, we all hurt and that’s just what I keep saying.”
Ms Davis told WKYT that her sister had used the Crock-Pot several times before with an extension cord.
“I guess my nephew got a hold of it when my sister walked into the other room,” she said.
Daelyn remains in hospital and will undergo skin drafting surgeries.
“They are constantly running labs on him and just making sure everything is good on the inside,” Ms Davis said.
She has set up a GoFundMe for the family as they navigate an uncertain future for their toddler.
Since being launched last week, it has raised more than $US9000 ($AU12,916) to help cover medical bills and travel expenses for the family to visit Daelyn.
In the description she wrote that the family was doing what they could do to be by the boy’s side as he navigated healing.
“My 1 year old nephew suffered a terrible accident when a crock-pot fell and spilled on him, causing severe 3rd degree burns all over his body,” she wrote.
“He was flown to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN, where he is now facing multiple surgeries and a long, difficult hospitalization.
“Our family is devastated and doing everything we can to support him through this unimaginable ordeal.”
