A magnitude 5.7 earthquake has struck Sulawesi, an Indonesian island east of Borneo.

The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said the quake struck on Sunday at a depth of 10km.

The island has several long peninsulas stretching out from a mountainous centre and is prone to earthquakes, including the deadly 2018 and 2021 quakes.
