Manhunt for mysterious woman over alleged outdoor sex act in Bali driveway

Balinese authorities are searching for a woman who allegedly had sex in a North Kuta driveway on Saturday.

Her alleged sexual partner was arrested on Tuesday at a Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, ahead of the 27-year-old Aussie man’s flight to Brisbane.

Police were able to identify the male suspect from the CCTV footage which police allege captured the pair having sexual intercourse against a partially closed fence on Saturday.

The 27-year-old male suspect was flagged as a person of interest in the nation’s Immigration Management Information System, which alerted authorities at the airport’s immigration checkpoint.

Authorities have not yet identified the woman involved.

“This case began from the circulation of a video on social media,” Ngurah Rai Immigration Office head Muhamad Novyandri said.

The witness to the alleged sex act on Saturday could be seen stopping in her tracks in CCTV footage of the moment, and calling out to the unmoving couple before fleeing in the direction she came from.

The suspects had met at a beach club, and were drunk at the time, police allege.

Public acts of indecency and sex outside marriage are both illegal in Indonesia, and foreigners caught fornicating can face jail time.

No charges have been laid against the 27-year-old suspect, and his case is now being handled by Immigration. He is expected to be deported to Australia soon.

Investigations are ongoing and police are urging locals to assist authorities in their crackdown on public immorality.

“We invite the public to play an active role in reporting alleged immigration violations and criminal acts by foreigners in the vicinity through official Immigration channels or the nearest immigration office,” Director general of immigration Hendarsam Marantoko said.
