Israeli military says fourth body returned by Hamas does not match any of the hostages

The Israeli military have said one of the four bodies handed over by Hamas does not match any hostage records.

In a statement posted on X the IDF said the bodies had been examined by Israel’s forensic medicine institute, which made the finding.

“Following the completion of examinations at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, the fourth body handed over to Israel by Hamas does not match any of the hostages,” the post said.

“Hamas is required to make all necessary efforts to return the deceased hostages.”

The three other bodies were confirmed to be Uriel Baruch, 35, Tamir Nimrodi, 20, and Eitan Levi, 53.
