A bearded Prince of Wales and his wife teamed up with rapper Snoop Dogg on Sunday in a video tribute to Britain’s Olympic heroes.

In a rare sighting of the Princess of Wales, who is having cancer treatment, the royal couple enlisted a string of stars for their uplifting surprise message.

The most eye-catching was Dogg, the former gun-toting, joint-puffing, pimp-turned-millionaire music mogul who became the unofficial face of Paris 2024.

He looked dapper in a red, white and blue suit and shades as he intoned: “Thank you Great Britain, on behalf of big Snoop Dogg, the Prince and his lovely wife.”

The 80-second video starts with a welcome from the 52-year-old rapper – who has entertained fans with his zany outfits while attending Olympic events – saying: “Greetings, loved ones.”

Then the camera switches to the Norfolk garden of the heir to the throne and Catherine, seen only for the second time since starting her chemotherapy treatment earlier this year.

The princess, wearing a favourite striped top, told the British athletes: “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.”

William, sporting a Team GB polo shirt, added: “Well done on all you have achieved. You’ve been an inspiration to us all.”

Former footballer David Beckham, swimmer Rebecca Adlington, cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy and athletics icon Dame Kelly Holmes were among the stars featured in the video.
