Donald Trump has taken a royal swipe at Prince Harry during his speech at an opulent state banquet in a lavish evening of pomp and pageantry honouring the US President’s second official state visit to the UK.

Speaking before 160 guests at St George’s Hall in Windsor Castle on Wednesday evening (local time), Mr Trump expressed admiration for King Charles and the Royal Family.

“This is truly one of the highest honours of my life, I have such respect for you and such respect for your country for many decades,” Mr Trump said as he addressed a room of royals, politicians and some of the most influential business leaders in the world.

Mr Trump added that King Charles had “epitomised the fortitude, nobility, and the spirit of the British monarchy, and the British people.”

“He’s dedicated himself to preserving the glory and unique character of this Kingdom,” he said.

The US President even admitted he was stunned by the King’s ability to remember the names of the many people he visits and greets during royal events.

But amid the glowing tributes, there was a notable omission.

Mr Trump told King Charles he had a “remarkable son in His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales,” completely snubbing Prince Harry.

He continued to praise only Prince William, calling him “really amazing” and predicting he would enjoy “an unbelievable amount of success in the future.”

The US President also complimented the Princess of Wales, remarking that she looked “so radiant and so healthy and so beautiful.”

The Princess was seated next to the US President at the banquet table and was seen smiling up at him as he delivered his speech.

The King returned serve in his address at the extravagant dinner, praising Mr Trump for his contribution to international diplomacy.

He commended the President’s “personal commitment to finding solutions to some of the world’s most intractable conflicts.”

Mr Trump’s first state visit to the UK took place in 2019, where he met with Queen Elizabeth II and had a private tea with King Charles.

He is the first president to ever receive a second state visit invitation to the UK.
