King Charles cancer update: British monarch to deliver video message about his recovery on Saturday

Coming up on two years since his cancer diagnosis was announced, Britain’s King Charles is expected to deliver a message about his recovery.
The King has not shared an official update about his health in a long time, though in May he said he thought he was “on the better side” of his cancer journey.
Charles has reportedly filmed a pre-recorded message which will be broadcast on Saturday 6am AEDT in support of the UK’s Stand up to Cancer campaign.

It is a collaboration between Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 and was recorded in late November according to AAP.
Before his cancer diagnosis was announced on February 6, 2024, Charles had spent three nights in hospital recovering from an operation on an enlarged prostate.
During this stay, his cancer, which is not prostate cancer, was discovered. The palace have never disclosed the exact disease Charles is suffering from.
After two months with no public appearances, Charles made a return to regular royal events by visiting the Macmillan Cancer Centre at the University College Hospital in April of 2024.
There he talked to another cancer patient about his “shock” at the diagnosis.
It is believed he has been undergoing weekly outpatient treatments at the London Clinic since his diagnosis.
Commentators say it is unlikely Charles will identify the type of cancer he is being treated for.
The Stand up to Cancer campaign is centred around raising awareness to encourage people to get regular check ups, which increases the chances of early diagnosis. The campaign also raises money for research and treatment.
Charles’ work life picked up to its usual pace this year and his schedule involved multiple overseas trips.
In January he went to Poland to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, he later travelled to Italy and Vatican City before heading to Canada in May.
In October, Charles returned to Vatican City and joined Pope Leo XIV to celebrate the Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year. He became the first British monarch to pray with a pope in public since the English Reformation.
